Marsh, the world's leading insurance broker and risk advisor, today announced the appointment of Henry (Hank) Allen as global leader of the firm's Multinational Practice, an organization of more than 1,000 Marsh employees worldwide who support the firm's industry-leading capabilities in delivering products and services to meet the needs of multinational clients.
Mr. Allen, who also retains his current role as president of Marsh's Global Consumer division, will continue to report to Dan Glaser, chairman and CEO of Marsh, in both capacities. He will work closely with Timothy Mahoney, president of the firm's Global Risk Management division, which serves the needs of the firm's largest global clients, as well as with Joe McSweeny, president, U.S. and Canada, and Alexander Moczarski, president, International.
"As clients in all industries work to navigate the complex exposures of our intensely competitive global marketplace, we continue to raise the standard for our world-class placement, service, and consulting operations in every part of the world," said Mr. Glaser. "Hank's success in leading our Global Consumer division and extensive experience running businesses in the U.S., Europe, Latin America, and Asia Pacific make him uniquely qualified to bring the full power of our capabilities to bear for clients around the globe."
A veteran of the leasing, consulting, and financial services industries, Mr. Allen has spent more than two decades acquiring, running, growing, and investing in companies across Europe, the Middle East, Far East, the Pacific, Latin America, and North America.
He became president of Marsh's Global Consumer division in 2006, relocating to Marsh's world headquarters in New York from London. Previously, Mr. Allen served in a variety of leadership roles with Marsh in Europe, Latin America, Africa, and Asia Pacific. Before joining Marsh, Mr. Allen led the European operations of Geocapital, a venture capital fund headquartered in the U.S., and GE Capital, where he held a number of senior leadership positions in Europe, culminating with European President and Chief Executive Officer of GE Capital Commercial Finance.
Mr. Allen earned a First Class Honors degree in Applied Chemistry from Salford University, a Diploma in Marketing and Finance from Newcastle Polytechnic, and an M.B.A. from Manchester Business School, where he majored in Finance and International Business.
