To better serve the insurance and risk management needs of oil and gas clients based in the Rocky Mountain region, Marsh today announced the formation of a new energy team based in Denver. Lynn Finch, a 25-year industry veteran, will lead the team, which will be part of the more than 100 dedicated practitioners in Marsh’s US Energy Practice.
In her new role, Ms. Finch will be responsible for ensuring the consistent delivery of Marsh’s extensive range of insurance broking and advisory solutions to its energy clients in Colorado, Wyoming, and Montana. She will report to Don Holmes, Marsh’s Denver Office Head.
“As exploration and production operations in the region—including shale drilling—continue to expand, energy companies must address a number of new and emerging exposures, including regulatory changes, contractual risks, transactional risks related to mergers and acquisitions, environmental risks, and safety concerns,” said Bertil Olsson, North American Energy Practice Leader. “Establishing an energy team for the Rocky Mountain region in Denver, under Lynn Finch’s leadership, will enable us to provide the local expertise and insight that energy companies need to manage this complex risk landscape.”
Ms. Finch added: “Energy companies in the Rocky Mountain region needed dedicated, locally-based advice and innovative solutions to adapt to evolving regulations, a challenging loss environment, and a transitioning insurance market. I am excited by the opportunity to lead a new Marsh energy team in Denver, helping to combine local expertise with Marsh’s global reach to benefit clients.”
Ms. Finch brings more than 25 years of experience as a broker and claims manager to her new role. She was previously head of Marsh’s Oklahoma operations, based in Tulsa, where she worked directly with many of Marsh’s oil and gas, public utilities, and natural gas clients. She joined Marsh’s Dallas office from Alexander Self-Insured Services, where she was Dallas office manager.
