More than ever, senior leaders expect risk managers to provide strategic insight into their risk-related decisions and how those decisions will help their organizations succeed. Although many risk managers have stepped up to the plate, opportunity exists for others to become more visible, valuable, and strategic.
To assist risk managers in this effort, Marsh will hold a one-hour webcast on Wednesday, June 20 at 11:00 a.m. ET: Strategic Risk Management: Taking Action.
During the webcast, a panel of experts will discuss:
- highlights from the 2012 Excellence in Risk Management survey—including the gaps between the C-suite and risk managers’ views—and what they mean for an organization’s strategic planning.
- how to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of an organization’s approach to risk management; and
- how companies are informing and improving their strategic decisions through the use of data and analytics to help their companies succeed.
“Risk managers have the opportunity to either begin or strengthen their participation in their organizations’ strategic planning—something senior leaders increasingly expect them to do,” said Brian Elowe, a managing director in Marsh’s Global Risk Management division. “The good news is, more risk managers are seizing this opportunity and have increased their value propositions by becoming more deeply connected with their organizations’ objectives and strategic thinking.”
Mr. Elowe will be joined on the panel by Yvette Conner, a senior vice president in Marsh’s Global Risk Management Division; Carol Fox, director of strategic and enterprise risk practice for the Risk & Insurance Management Society; and Tim Mahoney, president of Marsh’s Global Risk Management Division.
